Here are my thoughts for what they are worth.
I don’t believe it’s my lack of anything that makes communication with non autsitcs hard work, I believe it to be a combination of the cross neurological theory of mind (Beardon. L, 2008) and our filterless brain.
We see every detail and allistics see only what their filter allows through.
They see a 6 and we see a 9.
Allistics end up with only a basket full of data to process because of that filter.
Autistics have a trolley full because all the available data witnessed is stored.
The speed of each neuro type’s processor can be the same but the completion of Autistic processing will continue long after the allistic’s.
I believe this to be the cause of the awkwardness that occurs between Autistics & allistics because allistics are stood waiting for a response (their shopping has gone through the till already) while The Autistic is still waiting to pay.
